Product Details
The course will be from 9am until 3pm and will include breakfast, lunch and refreshments during the day, full course notes and recipes, a proving basket, dough scraper, scoring knife and some of our 20 year old sourdough starter. Not to mention your very own baked creations to take home.
The course will be taught by Benedict Harding, baker and co-owner of Electric Bakery, during the day he will share over 15 years of professional sourdough baking experience, comic anecdotes and strive to answer all your bread queries.
In this one day course suited to both novice and experienced bakers we will cover
· Starting and maintaining a sourdough culture
· How wild yeasts work and interact with other ingredients in bread doughs
· Benefits of using stoneground flour and heritage grains in baking
· Mixing and fermenting a healthy dough
· Shaping, proving, scoring and baking perfect sourdough loaves
We hope to dispel some of the mystique surrounding sourdough and give you the tools and confidence to take what you have learned and apply it to your own recipes and your own baking environment. The perfect present for the bread afficianado in your life.
